The person who succeeds in film production can approach directors and convince them that they have what it takes to create a box-office hit in a controlled environment. This means working with the casting director to ensure the right actors are chosen and then following a very strict budget but without sacrificing quality or vision. After all, budgets are tighter more today than they have been in years. Therefore, directors want to hear that a person can walk on set, get the job done, and not go over budget.
The person who makes a career choice for film production is taking on a very large role. This individual has the responsibility of making sure all the actors and extras, not to mention other movie staff is on set at the right time and that each person has a clear understanding of his or her role. The number one goal of the producer is to keep things on an even keel, to see trouble before it begins, nipping it in the bud. The only real downside to film production is that the producer does a tremendous amount of work but gets little acknowledgment. While film production is an excellent career choice, it is not for everyone.
